Omaha, Nebraska (PSF) - The stage is set for an exciting matchup in the final round of the 2023 Men’s College World Series between the two seeded Florida Gators and the five seeded LSU Tigers. This rematch of the 2017 national championship game is sure to be a thrilling showdown.

The series will kick off with game one on Saturday, June 24th at 7pm EST. It will be followed by game two on Sunday, June 25th at 3pm EST. If necessary, a decisive game three will take place on Monday, June 26 at 7pm EST. Both teams have had impressive records throughout the season, with Florida boasting a 53-15 record and LSU with a 52-16 record.

LSU earned their spot in the final round by advancing from bracket two. They faced Wake Forest in two rematches, ultimately winning in extra innings with a walk-off, two-run home run by Tommy White in the bottom of the 11th inning.

For the Gators, this marks their fourth appearance in the men’s national championship. Their previous victory came in 2017 when they defeated the Tigers to claim their first-ever title. The news of their upcoming championship matchup came alongside another significant development for the Florida baseball program. They acquired Colby Shelton, an infielder and 2022 Freshman All-American from Alabama. Shelton, known for this power hitting, set a single-season record for home runs by a Crimson Tide freshman with 25 in 2022. He adds further strength and talent to the Gators’ roster.

With both teams hungry for the championship, this series promises to be a highly anticipated and closely contested battle between two powerhouse college baseball programs.
