Big 12 Week 6 Picks

TCU @ Kansas (TCU -7.0)

Two undefeated teams, College Gameday, teams at the top of the Big 12. This must be the OU-Texas game, right? Many people thought before the season started, but instead, the game is between the Horned Frogs and Jayhawks in Lawrence, Kansas. Both teams have a high-flying offense with a middle-of-the-road defense. This game will be the biggest test for KU with the athletes that TCU can use. Kansas uses the home-field advantage to cover the spread, but TCU wins.  An interesting tidbit is that both teams are also undefeated against the spread in addition to their record.

Pick: Kansas +7.0

Oklahoma vs Texas (UT -9.5) In Dallas

This game is extremely difficult to pick, with the status of Dillon Gabriel unknown. Quinn Ewers will play in the game for Texas, and the line has shifted due to the quarterback’s status. For the past couple of years, this game has been close regardless of who is good.  With the line shifting towards Texas being a more significant favorite, I think I will go with OU, but I do not feel great about it.

Pick: Oklahoma +9.5

Texas Tech @ Oklahoma State (OSU -9.5)

Tech has a turnover problem, but they stay in games with their offense. OSU coming off a big road win over Baylor, may have a slight letdown. Tech has also played OSU close, especially in Stillwater, so I will take Tech to cover.

Pick: Texas Tech +9.5

Kansas State @ Iowa State (KSU -2.0)

This game is the one that I feel the best about. KSU seems to have found their offense with Adrian Martinez being a run threat, and his passing can play off that. He has rushed for 148 and 171 yards in the past two games, and the Wildcats still have the threat of Deuce Vaughn. Both defenses allow less than 20 points per game, but KSU has the much better offense and should win and cover the game.

Pick: Kansas State -2.0
