The Boston Celtics have acquired Xavier Tillman in a trade that sends Lamar Stevens and two second-round picks to the Memphis Grizzlies, it was announced on Wednesday.

Tillman, who has spent all four of his NBA seasons with Memphis, is averaging 6.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 1.0 block across 34 games this season and is a nice addition at a relatively low cost for Boston.

The Celtics are currently favorites to win the NBA championship and Tillman will add a strong defensive presence alongside Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, and Luke Kornet in the frontcourt.

The Michigan State product has been dealing with an injury that has kept him out of action over the previous month and last played on Jan. 3 against Toronto.

Boston still has one open roster spot remaining and could possibly make another move before the trade deadline tomorrow.
