Why the Los Angeles Lakers are Winning Free Agency

Los Angeles, California (PSF) - With the 2023 Free Agency kicking off it was all eyes on what the Lakers would do with the talent they have on the roster. Los Angeles waived Mo Bamba's contract, didn’t pick up Malik Beasley’s team option, and let Troy Brown Jr. and Dennis Schroder walk to sign with other teams. The Lakers' first move during this free agency was trying to add depth in the frontcourt by signing: Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish, and Jaxson Hayes to ensure they have depth there along with LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Jared Vanderbilt.

Another surprising signing was Gabe Vincent from the Miami Heat which comes as a shocker with speculation he’ll return to Miami. Gabe signed a deal for three years worth up to $33 million. The Lakers also recently resigned vital pieces to their roster in Rui Hachimura, D’Angelo Russell, and Austin Reaves which gives them a complete team with length, shooting, young players, and defenders. Wonder if the Lakers bring back Lonnie Walker IV back as well which would be a steal, the Lakers seem to be ready to compete in the West going forward and see if they can make more moves.
