What’s next for Brooklyn and Ben SImmons

In a failed attempt to save the team that started to fall apart when James Harden wanted out, Brooklyn opted to get back Ben Simmons in a deal with Philly. The hope was maybe he could once again show that original potential we thought he all had in Philadelphia, but sadly, it hasn’t played out this way. Instead, Simmons has averaged many fouls and is barely making a dent in the score. At this point, he’s playing like a slightly better value Draymond Green.

Looking at the stats, Green and Simmons share almost identical stat sheets for the 2023 NBA season. So as Kendrick Perkins said, Simmons is just a more athletic Draymond. I can’t see any teams wanting to trade for Simmons because, unlike Draymond, Simmons has questionable motivation as to whether basketball is his priority like it should be.

There are always questions about whether Simmons is putting in the effort to get his jump shot better, etc. Unless a team is looking for an arguably better or worse value Green on their roster, the trade outlook isn’t so smooth.
