What The Knicks Can Look Forward To After the All Star Break

I was having a great day here on my couch on this fine Tuesday. I was getting homework done, getting through some meetings, you know, the regular tasks that get people through the day, and then I remembered that the Knicks play basketball on Friday.

At first, I was ecstatic. The Knicks are back on! My ride or die team. Then, I remembered that RJ Barrett is hurt, the young guys don’t get any run, and I don’t know for sure what Derrick Rose’s status is. I immediately felt horrible, as I know I am going to watch a brutal stretch of games against the Heat, 76ers (twice), Suns, Clippers, Kings, Mavericks, Grizzlies, and Nets. Man, this could really destroy my mentality.

However, there are absolutely some things to look forward to throughout the rest of the season. Starting off, Derrick Rose’s return, no matter what, will be an exciting watch, as he was the main bright spot throughout those first couple months of the season, basically being the Knicks best player through 26 games. His ability to create offense out of thin air will help when watching a team that sometimes really struggles to put the ball in the hole.

Next, as the season begins to wind down, and some of these losses begin piling up, it would make no sense to continue playing some of these older veterans like Noel, Burks, and Fournier. So, it is very possible (not saying likely, but possible) that we see more minutes for Quickley, Toppin, Grimes, Deuce, and Sims going forward over these last 20 or so games.

Lastly, when RJ comes back, I hope to see his continued progression that we have seen all season from him, as he began to blossom in the New Year, averaging 25 points per game in the month of February before being sidelined to injury.

Ok, so the thing is, there is more thing to look forward to.

That sweet sweet draft pick that we somehow don’t get the correct one for because of the lottery odds.

Let’s go Knicks.
