The Last Chance

Friday Night the Trae Young and the Hawks will face off against Darius Garland and the Cavaliers for a final chance to gain the 8th seed spot and take on the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs.

Entering the Play-in tournament this year the Cavaliers would enter as the 8th seed while the Hawks would enter as the 9th. The Cavaliers would have to face off against Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, and the Brooklyn Nets for the 7th seed. This young and inexperienced Cavaliers squad would show to have no answers for the prolific shot-making and playmaking of Kyrie Irving who would leave Tuesday’s game with 34 points and 12 assists shooting 80% from the field. Garland would attempt to wheel this Cavaliers team back in the game scoring 34 himself but it would show to be too late as the Nets would pull away late in the 4th.

Trae Young and the Hawks would almost cruise their way to victory defeating the LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets by nearly 30 points. Despite Trae Young’s shooting struggles the Hawks were able to pick up the slack dominating the Hornets. The Hawks would end the game with 6 who would score over double digits and would lead the in nearly every team stat category, leading them to a commanding victory.

This series of events would lead to these two teams facing off for their final opportunity to make this year’s playoffs to go up against the Miami Heat in the first round. This game will be a battle of two of the best young premier guards in the NBA in Darius Garland and Trae Young. Which player will lead their team to victory?
