A Conversation on Most Improved Player

This award may not be as prestigious as MVP or DPOY or COTY, but this years field is as crowded as any NBA fan can remember, and that is something to celebrate. Now look winning this award is a great honor and should be celebrated by whomever receives it, but it signals something great about the NBA’s future. There is plethora of young talent that has come into the league in the past 5 or 6 years and that should be something worth noting. As players like Lebron, CP3, Curry, Harden, and KD all enter their final phases of their career the league and its fans were approaching somewhat of a question as to who would take the torch and become the future faces of the league. However there is no worrying that needs to be done. Yes we know about guys like Luka, Giannis, Trae Young, and Tatum who are in that upper echelon of soon to be faces of the NBA, but this years MIP player award signals something great for the league, consistent young talent, guys like Jordan Poole, Darius Garland, Dejounte Murray, Miles Bridges, and Tyrese Maxey show that the leagues future is in great hands.

While this award is not something most fans payed attention to in recent years, having this crowded of a field shows just how impactful young guys are in this league and just how competitive the league is becoming. It also is something that should make fans excited, I for one cannot wait for the next phase of the NBA when the youth begins to ascend into superstardom and there is a new face of the NBA. There is only question that remains: who is the face of the league in 10 years time?
