Steph Curry has returned, but will it be enough to turn the Warriors’ season around?
Steph Curry is finally back after his 11-game absence, and he's now brought new life into his team. However, will it be enough for the Warriors to make the playoffs and defend their championship?
In his first game back against the Phoenix Suns, where they lost 125-113, Curry went 8-for-22 from the field and 5-for-15 from three with 24 points, three assists, and one rebound. Of course, he was not going to be 100 percent, but he was able to put up points even though the Warriors lost the game.
This entire season has looked different from the Warriors that we know as one of the league's top teams. Currently, they are 21-22 and the eighth seed in the West, meaning if the season ended today, they would have to play in the Play-In tournament to even make the playoffs.
Even with Curry back in the fold, it may not be enough to carry the team during the season because the core of Curry, Thompson, and Green is getting a little older. And there are way better teams in the Western Conference, such as the Dallas Mavericks, Memphis Grizzles, etc.
Things look very bad right now for the Warriors. Still, it doesn't mean that the season is completely over. Curry and the team has, in the past, proved everyone wrong even after it looked like the dynasty was over and won a championship just the prior season.
With Curry getting back to 100 percent, it may be enough to drive the Warriors into the playoffs, but with the tough competition in the West, it may be too much for them to handle, so we have to see what happens to them.
