So far this season, six teams (Pacers x3) have scored an astonishing 150+ points per game. And last night against the Indiana Pacers, the LA Lakers scored a whopping 150 points to become the seventh team.

Sitting at 16th in the league with a 116.0 offensive rating and scoring 117.7 points per game, the Lakers came together on Sunday to stun the Pacers who scored 145 of their own points.

With 116 points through three quarters and holding a 17-point lead going into the fourth, the Lakers were determined to come out with a win against the Pacers who continued to fight back- scoring 46 points in the final quarter.

The 295 combined points shared between the teams were accumulated through the high number of shots, with the Pacers attempting 107 field goals, and the Lakers 89.

At the end of the game, the outcome came down to fouls and free throws, with the Pacers accumulating 31 personal fouls and taking only 16 free throws; while the Lakers racked up 14 personal fouls, yet took an astonishing 43 free throws.

Scoring the most points since January 2nd, 1987, the Lakers had four standout players, who all scored 25+. Anthony Davis, Spencer Dinwiddie, Lebron James, and Austin Reaves put up 36, 26, 26, and 25, respectively, to combine for 113 of LA’s 150 points.

This high-energy win over the Pacers was an important stepping stone for the Lakers, who are still trying to prove that they belong in the postseason. This win gave the Lakers a solid 2.5-game lead over the Golden State Warriors who sit in the 10th seed.

With Pascal Siakam scoring 36 for the Pacers side, the five players on both sides of the court with 25+ points were unstoppable. Their individual ability to make plays and get to the hole shined through, and although defense may be questionable in the league this year, credit is given where credit is due, and there is no question that this talent should be applauded.
