Anthony Edwards The New Face Of The NBA

Anthony Edwards, a shooting guard on the Minnesota Timberwolves has become a big name throughout this season. Edwards has been known for being the most electrifying player in the NBA this year. He entered the NBA in 2020 as a first round number one pick and has continued to prove why he came in as number one. Many believe if Edwards continues to evolve the way he has these past four seasons he will be comparable to Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.

Looking at the progress Edwards has made throughout his time in the NBA he started his career in 2020 averaging 19.3 points per game, with a +/- of -228. Moving into his 2021-2022 season he averaged 21.3 points per game, with a +/- of +188. In 2022-2023 he averaged 24.6 points per game, with a +/- of +97. For his present season thus far he has averaged 25.9 points per game leading his team in points per game, and has a +/- of +261. From those few statistics we can see Edwards is on nothing but an uphill climb, continuing to improve and better his game each year. Throughout his time he has also battled numerous knee and hip injuries but continues to reassure his fans that he is not one to be played with.

Not only is Edwards a phenomenal individual player, his talent and ability to electrify an entire arena brings out a side of the Timberwolves that hasn’t been seen in years. The Timberwolves has had an incredible season thus far leading the Western Conference as the number one spot. With much season left Edwards and his team still have a lot to prove but with the track they’re on they’re looking at making it all the way.
