Chet Holmgren Retires His High School Jersey
Friday evening Chet Holmgren, from the Oklahoma Thunder was surrounded by his team as he retired his high school jersey. Holmgren attended Minnehaha Academy in Minneapolis, Minnesota as a center and power forward. He collected many accolades throughout his time at Minnehaha Academy, those being four state championships from 2017-21, averaging about 21 points per game and 12.3 rebounds as a senior. Earning himself the Gatorade National Player of the Year honors. After finishing his high school career Holmgren earned himself a five-star prospect and the consensus top player in the 2021 recruiting class. Holmgren is among one other player to have his jersey number retired in Minnehaha Academyβs history. The other player being Jalen Suggs, who is currently a shooting guard for the Orlando Magic.
The big Minnesota native Chet Holmgren, a huge power forward for the Oklahoma Thunder ended his weekend in Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 20th to play the Minnesota Timberwolves. Holmgren had a big impact on the game, contributing 33 minutes in the game, racking up five rebounds, two assists and blocks, and earning 15 points. Leading the Oklahoma Thunder to a defeat of the number one ranked Timberwolves in the Western conference, 102-97.
