Magic get their second win over the Warriors

Jalen Suggs shines in Magic second win finishes with 26pts 9ast

Last night we saw the new look Magic take down the reigning champs in the Golden State Warriors. This win extends Orlando’s all time series history with the Warriors to 35-32, winning the last 5 at home. The Magic had a starting line up of Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner, Paolo Banchero, Wendell Carter Jr and Bol Bol. Bol Bol has been a nice addition for the Magic this year. It's good to see him getting some burn in the starting lineup. After having a shaky first game back against the OKC Thunder, Jalen Suggs had a great resurgence in this game. Starting it off by showing his playmaking ability to get Carter Jr open to knock down a three. The Magic had a slow start while the Warriors caught fire early, which is not a surprise from a team like Golden State. The first half was filled with missed defensive assignments, failed defensive sets, and turnovers that allowed Golden State to capitalize. The Magic trailed for most of the first half but some good offensive plays in the post, steady ball movement and Jalen Suggs driving ability kept the game close going into the half. Coming out of the half the Magic displayed much of the same defensive mistakes that led to the massive lead the Warriors had. Franz was hitting threes and Paolo had become more aggressive with his shots within the post and spacing the floor with his outside shot. Even with this scoring it seemed like Steph couldn’t miss, Jordan Poole started getting hotm and Klay was knocking down open shots. Through the third quarter the Magic seemed to be battling to keep it a close contest. In the last minute of the third, the bench hustled for extra possessions which resulted in three buckets. This brought the Magic within a score to end the third quarter. The Magic would start the fourth with the lead and they got production from bench players like RJ. Hampton to help them secure a nine point lead in the fourth. As resilient as the Warriors are, the lead wasn’t held for long as good playmaking and shot selection brought them back in front. The last two minutes of this game would be some of the most exciting Magic basketball I’ve watched. Jalen Suggs was a catalyst in the closing minutes; a clutch three and good defensive steal on the next plays would put the Magic in a position to win the game. Forcing Steph to pass out and also forcing Klay Thompson into a rushed floater would seal the game for the Orlando Magic. Steph did finish with 39 points, but Jalen Suggs was the star of this game: 26 points and 9 assists. While this is only the Magic's second game, the energy and play from the team tonight makes you excited for this team's future. The future for this team looks bright.
