Looking Back On The Celtics’ December

Before the Celtics played any games in December, I wrote an article talking about the difficult month that they had ahead of them. Entering December, Boston had the most difficult schedule in the NBA, with 15 games against opponents who were either .500 or better at the time.

With Jaylen Brown missing 5 straight games due to a hamstring injury, the Celtics ended up going 6-9 and dropped to 9th in the Eastern Conference standings while shooting 45.3%, which was in the bottom half of the league. Boston had 9 out of their 15 games end in 1 score, losing 7 of them. They also shot 34.2% from the 3, which landed them in the bottom 10 teams of the league that month.

Jaylen Brown (7), puts up a shot against the Clippers

With Jayson Tatum out because of health and safety protocols, now is a great time for Jaylen Brown to step up his game, especially since he missed so much time due to his injury. If Brown and Tatum can both play at the elite level that they are known for, the Celtics still have time to make a run before the all star break.

Tatum (0) and Brown (7) are the two stars on the Celtics

The Celtics have currently won 2 straight games, one against the red hot Phoenix Suns and a game last night against the Orlando Magic. They look to keep their winning streak alive on the 5th in a home game vs the San Antonio Spurs.
