LeBron Breaks NBA All-Time Scoring Record
LeBron James broke the NBA All-Time scoring record in front of the Lakers home crowd in Tuesday night's 133-130 loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The previous record was held by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who had held the previous record since 1984.
James came into the game needing 36 points to break the record, and it took only three quarters to do so as he broke the record with 10.9 seconds left in the third quarter on a fadeaway shot.
Despite the record-breaking performance, the Lakers came up short to the Thunder, losing by three points in the end. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way for the Thunder finishing with 30 points, and James led the Lakers in scoring with 38 to finish the game.
The Lakers are 5-5 in their last 10 games and still see themselves on the outside looking in, in terms of a playoff spot. However, with the trade deadline coming up, you can expect the Lakers to make a move to try and make that final push to get into the playoffs.
