Kyrie Irving’s Mavs contract update

New York, New York (PSF) - Kyrie Irving was one of the stars on the market in free agency who had options to join some contending teams. However, he wouldn’t have gotten the max deal from those teams such as the Lakers or Suns to name a few. Only the Mavericks could give him a deal that he wanted while he was in Brooklyn unless he took a pay cut.

Eventually, Kyrie signed a three-year $126 million deal to stay with the Dallas Mavericks which was his best option to get the max deal he wanted and not as lengthy and to get a full season with the Mavs and playing alongside Luka.

Irving’s contract is $120 million guaranteed plus $6 million incentives related to games played and the team's success. His contract also has a player option for the 2025-26 season which means he could return to free agency after two seasons.
