Kyrie Irving Trade Destinations
Kyrie Irving is no longer happy in Brooklyn, where will he land? Here are the teams that could possibly pull off a trade for the eight-time all-star.
Lakers:
The Lakers have been rumored to be a suitor for Irving ever since the 2022 offseason where it seemed as though the Nets were going to trade away both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. With no deal getting done in the summer, the Lakers and Rob Pelinka have been waiting for a chance to trade for another All-Star, and with Irving back on the trade block, so are the Lakers interest. However, it seems difficult for the Lakers to pull off a trade for Kyrie since the Brooklyn Nets still have Kevin Durant and will want to remain competitive. A three-team trade seems to be the most likely scenario for Irving to become a Laker. The Nets would receive great role players and a pick from the Lakers so that they can stay competitive and get draft compensation, while the Lakers get Kyrie. Here is a possible trade scenario:
Lakers: Kyrie Irving & Joe Harris (Or Seth Curry)
Nets: Players from Team X & LAL 1st Round pick
Team X: Westbrook & LAL 1st Round Pick
Mavericks:
The Dallas Mavericks have been trying to find an All-Star pairing for their franchise player Luka Doncic and Irving could be that guy. Irving is a great scorer, ball handler, and facilitator that could relieve a lot of pressure off of Doncic. However, the Dallas Mavericks organization has voiced concerns with Irving’s off-court antics. Nevertheless, if Luka asks the front office to get Kyrie Irving, you have to make your superstar happy and make an attempt to pull off a trade. Here is a possible trade scenario for the Mavericks to land Irving:
Mavericks: Kyrie Irving & Patty Mills
Nets: Spencer Dinwiddie, Christian Wood, Dorian Finney-Smith, DAL 1st Round Pick.
Suns:
The Phoenix Suns have had a rollercoaster of a season. They started off hot but unfortunately injuries have derailed them which has landed them currently as a 6th seed in the Western conference. Devin Booker is reported to be returning soon and the Suns still have championship aspirations which could lead them to wanting to trade for Kyrie Irving. The Suns have probably some of the most valuable pieces that the Nets would be interested in. They got Chris Paul, Mikal Bridges, Deandre Ayton, and Jae Crowder. But what are the Suns willing to give up to land Irving? Here is a trade scenario that I think the Suns would be willing to offer:
Suns: Kyrie Irving
Nets: Chris Paul, Jae Crowder, PHO 1st Round Pick
