KD to the Celtics is the perfect scenario for both organizations

When Kevin Durant requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets in June, the Nets made it clear to KD and everyone that follows basketball that they would not trade him unless they got a massive haul back. A potential haul would include a young star, several impactful role players, and plenty of draft assets. So when the Phoenix Suns elected to match the Indiana Pacers' offer a few weeks ago for Deandre Ayton, it likely eliminated the Suns from the Kevin Durant sweepstakes.

Another team on KD's shortlist was the Miami Heat. With arguably the best coach and general manager in the game and a great all-around team, culture, and great city to live in, many could see why KD was intrigued by the idea of playing for the Heat. However, with the Heat unable to include Tyler Herro and Bam Adebayo in the same deal due to rookie extension rules, the Heat's chances started becoming bleaker.

With several weeks passing without any enticing trade offers for the Brooklyn Nets, there is doubt whether KD will be traded this offseason.

That all changed when everyone woke up to a tweet from Adrian Wojnarowski this morning of the Boston Celtics offering a trade package of Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and a draft pick for KD. Brooklyn declined and wanted additional role players, draft compensation, and Marcus Smart in return, per Woj.

In conclusion, the Boston Celtics have the best trade package to offer out of any team in the NBA with an excellent young star leading the way, exceptional role players, as well as draft compensation, and it will be interesting to see if the two sides can come to an agreement.
