It’s Ja’s World now, and we’re Just Living in it.

Flashback two weeks ago and an article like this is not on anyones minds. However, after the first two games of the Grizzlies series with Golden State, one thing is certain, Ja Morant has become the center of the basketball universe.

After Memphis slipped by a tricky T-Wolves team in the first round, the media had a lot of questions for this years most-improved-player, saying that he started games too slow and couldn’t put together consistent four quarter performances. Many people were confused and disappointed at the lack of production and leadership Morant had showed in the series, including myself. After a series win, and a lackluster one at that, Ja did the one thing all great NBA players must learn to do, forget. Ja turned his attention towards the Warriors and how to better himself for the upcoming series… and my oh my did he. While the Warriors stole game one in Memphis, something must be said about Ja’s 34 point and 10 assist game, one that silenced all of his doubters. Ja only built upon that for a dominating 47 point-8 rebound-8 assist game that shut the Warriors up. Now, he’s averaging around 41 points per game this series and the Warriors do not have a hope to contain him in anyway shape or form.

In Ja’s last two performances he’s shown flashes as to why he is this league’s next best thing. Not only by flashing electric and powerful scoring, but dynamic playmaking and exceptional hustle. Memphis was a team facing a lot of adversity going into this series with an experienced, well-coached team like Golden State, but they’ve shown they can run with the big boys, and just like the rest of us, teams like the Warriors are merely living in Ja’s wild and exciting world.
