LSU welcomes Hailey Van Lith to help build the "three-headed monster" As the Tigers aim for back-to-back national championships, the acquisition of Hailey Van Lith forges a new, potent combination with Angel Reese and Flau'jae Johnson. According to ESPN, the 5-foot-7 guard revealed her choice of transferring to Louisiana State University by uploading a picture of herself on Thursday wearing an LSU basketball uniform wearing the number "eleven," seemingly referring to her new jersey number. After finishing her degree at Louisville, Van Lith relocates to the city of Baton Rouge to play at LSU as a graduate transfer with two years of eligibility left.

Van Lith has been a prime player in the world of women’s college basketball in the past couple of years. She averaged 19.7 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.5 steals all in her third season of college basketball at Louisville University. Due to her incredible stat line of the 2022-23 season, she was the top player of this year’s transfer portal. It was no question that colleges across the country were doing everything in their power to attain such a consistent player. Even with all of the availability, Van Lith reached a decision to join Angel Reese, the top player in last year’s transfer portal, and SEC Freshman of the Year Flau’jae Johnson at LSU to create the “three headed monster”.

Reese and Johnson carried LSU all the way to a national championship, after a remarkable long and hard fought regular season, which carried some weight on Van Lith’s decision to transfer to Louisiana State. Van Lith stated, ““The fan base and university here love and support their women’s basketball team like no other, I cannot wait to play for this incredible community. LSU plays with an intensity and grit that I am drawn to and I am wholeheartedly committed to helping this team be great,” in an interview with ESPN after announcing her decision.

Hailey will not only team up with Angel Reese and Flau’je Johnson, she always be joining, SEC Sa'Myah Smith, an All-Freshman forward, Kateri Poole, and “Last-Tear” Poa were all significant players in LSU's championship season during Coach Kim Mulkey's second season.

Easy to say that Van Lith has solid team to join for this next college basketball season — and fans around the world are ready to see how she performs on the LSU team.
