Disaster in Brooklyn
The Brooklyn Nets fell to 2-6 in the Eastern Conference, continuing a very lackluster start to the season. The team was supposedly revamped with the swap of James Harden for Ben Simmons, and we all had hopes that the addition of Simmons, despite his shooting struggles, would be game-changing due to his perimeter defense. The Nets are a good shooting team, so they should compensate for Simmons' lack of shooting ability. But unfortunately, it hasn't played out this way.
So far, the performance they've shown us hasn't improved from last year. The team seems even more confused and lost out there on the court than ever before. It would seem like the Nets' front office, and owners thought the same because they decided to give head coach Steve Nash the boot.
Now the state of the team is in shambles, and it falls upon the next head coach to fix this mess that's been four years in the making. Recent reports say that the Nets plan to hire suspended Boston Celtics coach Ime Udoka, who was suspended for violating the Celtics' personal-conduct policy by having an inappropriate relationship at work.
Udoka had quite a good reputation with Boston before the incident, so if anyone can turn this situation in Brooklyn around, it would be him.
