Bojan Bogdanovic agrees to extension with Detroit
The Detroit Pistons have agreed to a two-year, $39.1 million contract extension with sharp-shooting forward Bojan Bogdanovic.
Detroit acquired Bogdanovic in a trade with the Utah Jazz just before training camp in what is looking like the steal of the offseason. The contract extension ties him to the Pistons through the 2024-25 season.
Bogdanovic has gotten off to a fantastic start this season with his new team. While it has not translated into wins for the team thus far, Bogdanovic is averaging 22.7 points per game while shooting 51 percent from deep in the first seven games.
He has been everything the Pistons wanted and some so far. Though the season is young, and of course, he is not going to shoot 51 percent from three-point land all year long, I think his role, volume, and points production in the Pistons' offense seems to be set in stone for the foreseeable future.
The extension is an excellent move for Detroit to get him locked in for the next few seasons as an important veteran piece to go alongside the Pistons' young core.
