Patrick Beverley is a Chicago Bull

After being bought out by the Orlando Magic, Patrick Beverley has announced that he will be signing with his hometown team, the Chicago Bulls. There was much speculation about where Beverley would end up, including rumors of a reunion with the Timberwolves or the Clippers. But ultimately, Beverley stated that it came down to two teams, the Golden State Warriors and the Chicago Bulls.

Beverley hopped on the Barstool Sports podcast and had this to say: “It was between Golden State and the Bulls…I figured I would make a playoff push with the Bulls right now. The East is kinda weak.”

The Bulls currently rank as the 11th seed in the East and are looking to make a final push into the play-in. Starting point guard Lonzo Ball is set to miss the entire season due to a torn meniscus in his knee, as recent reports have stated that he has not been progressing well with his rehab, and there is currently no timetable for his return.

The Bulls looked to fill in that guard position which Patrick Beverley can certainly do. Beverley will bring pesky on-ball defense, shoot the three-ball, and bring energy and hustle every night. Beverley can’t fill the entire void that Ball has left, but he will help the struggling Bulls.

The Chicago Bulls only have 23 games left to make a final push into the play-in. It’ll be interesting to see if Beverley can bring enough to the squad to make it.
