Anthony Edwards for MVP

Anthony Edwards, a shooting guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves has become an uprising player in the league. Edwards was a number one pick in the 2020 draft for the Wolves and has proven himself since. Throughout his first year in the league Edwards averaged 19.3 points per game and he has continued to improve this statistic throughout the past four seasons. In his 2021-2022 season averaging 21.3 points, 2022-2023 averaging 24.6 points and in 2023-2024 averaging 26.1 points. Making his career average points 22.9.

Not only has Edwards continued to improve his points per season throughout his career, he has added many different elements to his game. Making him comparable to Michael Jordan, a top player for his time. This recognition isn’t something that is simply given out and to have such a highly respected player make that acknowledgement is like no other. Also being so young in the league with so much talk from the greats of the league and the attraction he brings to his play is incomparable.

Anthony Edwards is not only a high scoring player for the Minnesota Timberwolves he brings another aspect to his game, which has been said to be lost in the league. Edwards has a dog mentality, every time he steps foot on the court he is out there to put forth his best and win. Whether he be injured or completely healthy, we have seen Edwards push through injury and have some of his best highlighted plays.

This all being said Anthony Edwards deserves the recognition of most valuable player for the Minnesota Timberwolves. Undoubtedly Edwards has proven himself through his positive improvements statistically and his leadership abilities, to be 22 years old and to have a team on your back and pull through tough situations goes to show that this is a well deserved award contestant. Anthony Edwards will be the new face of the league.
