Injuries continue to plague Timberwolves
The Minnesota Timberwolves are in the race for a play-in spot but continue to get derailed by injuries. Injuries have plagued the Timberwolves ever since their All-Star big man Karl-Anthony Towns went down with a calf strain in late November and has been sidelined ever since.
Edwards has taken a huge step in his game which landed him a spot in the All-Star game. At just 21 years old, Edwards is averaging 24.7 points per game, 5.9 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.6 steals while shooting 46.1 percent from the field and 37.1 percent from the three. The third-year pro has turned into one of the best two-way guards in the league and has carried this Timberwolves squad to the eighth seed in the West.
Unfortunately, Anthony Edwards suffered a non-contact injury on March 17 versus the Chicago Bulls. Edwards was seen rolling his right ankle as he fell to the ground screaming in pain and had to be helped off the court and into the locker room.
It did not look good for the Timberwolves, and their fans as Edwards was ruled out of the game with an injury and returned to the Timberwolves bench with a boot over his right foot.
Although Edwards's injury looked grim, Shams Charania delivered the good news that Edwards will be evaluated daily with a right ankle sprain.
With only 10 games left in the Timberwolves season, the Timberwolves are in desperate need of either Towns or Edwards to return if they want to make a serious run for the playoffs.
