The Buzzard Speaks

This past Friday on SmackDown closed with Bray Wyatt’s first time speaking to WWE fans since his Extreme Rules return. It seemed like a more vulnerable and personal side of a character pouring out as he emotionally thanked the fans for their support. He stated that during his hiatus, the former WWE Champion believed that everything he did in his career meant nothing to everyone, yet was proven wrong as fans cheered for him and sent kind messages both in person and on the internet. His promo was interrupted by a strange man in a mask that ended with the words “You got no idea who you’re dealing with, do you? But you will.” We will see where Bray goes from here on this second chance run with the WWE.

NEW CHAMPS CROWNED

A couple of fresh champions earned their belts this week as well. Seth Rollins won his second United States Championship on RAW by defeating an already beaten up Bobby Lashley. It’s the Visionary’s first title in four years. Elsewhere, on AEW Dynamite, Orange Cassidy would put down PAC to win the All-Atlantic Championship, the “Freshly Squeezed” sensation’s first title during his tenure with the company.

Reports say that the WWE Day one event has been cancelled for 2023, with no plans to reschedule or rebrand the show. As of now, the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, GA is still showing the event with an on-sale date listed as “TBA.” We shall see what happens with that event soon, so those who want to attend can take the report with a grain of salt.
