Another week of news within the wrestling world is in the books. From signing rumors, Bret Hart, and Tony Khan’s big announcement wrestling fans saw it all this week.

It finally happened, the collaboration wrestling fans have been waiting for years as two of the biggest wrestling promotions in the world will join forces. On this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Tony Khan announced a joint pay-per-view with New Japan Pro Wrestling set to take place on June 26th in Chicago, Illinois. The name of the event is of course: Forbidden Door. This event is already one of the most anticipated pay-per-view’s of the year as the match card will be dream match heaven. Tickets go on sale Friday May 6th.

WrestleMania 38 Viewership In India

This week multiple wrestling sources revealed the WrestleMania 38 viewership in India and the number will shock you. Over 56 MILLION fans watched the biggest wrestling event on WWE’s calendar. India continues to prove their enthusiasm for the company as the country is one of the biggest international markets. Multiple decisions by WWE over the past few years looked to take advantage of this. Most notably, the Jinder Mahal WWE title run back in 2017 along with The Great Khali returning and hints of a possible ‘dream match’ against Dilsher Shanky. The build up to Veer Mahaan’s debut created great anticipation becoming a huge draw in India.

KUSHIDA LEAVES WWE

Beloved former NJPW star Kushida had enough with WWE leaving the company this week. The former NXT Cruiserweight Champion signed with the company in 2019 creating a lot of buzz within the wrestling world. According to Whatculture.com, “Per Joe Lanza of The Flagship Wrestling Podcast, Kushida, who had stayed in touch with several NJPW wrestlers after leaving the company for WWE in 2019, had shown displeasure at the way he was booked following NXT's developmental shift in September 2021.” It is now heavily speculated Kushida will return to New Japan in June as a repackaged heel.

BRET HART QUITELY SIGNED LUCRATIVE WWE DEAL

Amongst the news Bret Hart will manage FTR at an Indie show this June, Dave Meltzer revealed why for this only event. According to Dave Meltzer in his latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Bret Hart will only appear for this one event because of signing on the dotted lines of a “lucrative WWE contract” that would restrict Hart from appearing on AEW TV. Bret Hart appeared on AEW television revealing to fans the AEW Heavyweight Championship at Double or Nothing back in 2019. According to Wrestlingnews.co, Bret Hart was never asked about being apart of the Owen Hart Tournament currently taking place in AEW.

Feels like forever ago amidst the creation of the Wyatt family back in 2012. However, ten years later the family has reunited one last time for a heartwarming picture.
