Catching Honky

As of this writing, Gunther has reigned as WWE Intercontinental Champion for 437 days. The Ring General is just over two weeks (17 days, to be exact) from catching WWE Hall of Famer, The Honky Tonk Man, who holds the record for longest reigning IC Champ at 454 days. A Rated-R Wrap?

This past Friday on SmackDown, Edge celebrated his 25th anniversary of his WWE debut by facing off against Sheamus, who Edge said was the inspiration for his comeback run. After a back-and-forth battle, the Rated-R Superstar triumphed against the Celtic Warrior. After the show went off the air, Edge thanked his hometown fans in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, saying “…this is my last time in front of y’all… but don’t let be a downer, because, man, what an experience you all gave me. I will never forget it… and when I’m 84 years old, and don’t remember much, you’re damn sure I’m gonna remember this. Thank you.”
