The Mongolz Win YaLLa Compass 2024, Lifting Second Trophy in a Row

The Mongolz have won their second tournament in a row lifting the trophy at both YaLLa Compass and the MESA Nomadic Masters Spring 2024 events. The Mongolz would defeat Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP) in a series that went to all three maps.

Both teams faced each other earlier in the event and Mongolz handedly took out NIP in a 13-6 map win on Nuke.

The Mongolz faced a tough competitor before reaching the Grand Finals in Astralis in another series that went all three maps and saw the last map Ancient going into triple overtime. Throughout the event, they faced multiple European teams and showed time after time that they can compete with the top-level teams which is a great sign for the Asian Counter-Strike scene.

Usukhbayar โ€œ910โ€ Banzragch won the MVP of the event averaging a 1.25 rating across the entire tournament. 910 is the main AWPer of the Mongolz and was able to outgun top players like Nicolai โ€œdeviceโ€ Reedtz and Rasmus โ€œsjuushโ€ Beck.

NIP put up a great fight taking the first map their map pick, Ancient before losing the last two maps in Mirage and Nuke. NIP is in the beginning process of their new roster lineup with young players like Artem โ€œr1nkleโ€ Moroz and Max โ€œmaxsterโ€ Jansson showing viewers what this new NIP roster can really do.

The Mongolz has slowly become the best Asian Counter-Strike team weโ€™ve ever seen since the inception of professional Counter-Strike. It is a large stride for a region that is on the up and coming, and gives hope to fans of the Esport that more and more teams will emerge from regions outside of Europe to give us amazing Counter-Strike we can enjoy for a long time coming.

Some other teams to be on the lookout for from the Asian region include ATOX and Lynn Vision.

The Mongolz next competition will come at ESL Challenger Jรถnkรถping where they will face Party Astronauts in their first game of the event.
