MOUZ Win ESL Pro League Season 18 In Dominant Fashion
MOUZ swept Natus Vincere (NAVI), 3-0, in the Grand Finals of ESL Pro League Season 18 on Sunday.
MOUZ looked dominant on all three maps with all players each having a cumulative rating of above a 1.0 for the series.
MOUZ’s Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás took home the competition’s MVP with a 1.29 rating for the Grand Finals. In the playoffs, Torzsi had a rating above a 1.2 for all series except for a 1.17 rating against their first opponent FURIA.
NAVI had a strong showing on both Inferno and Mirage but could not capitalize on key situations like they did against Monte in the semi-finals. Overall, the new NAVI roster has been producing solid results and seems to be on track to make big waves in the coming competitions.
The rest of the playoffs saw teams that were dominant in the Group Stage like G2, FaZe and Vitality fall off a cliff and in some cases be dominated by teams who struggled in the Group Stage.
Vitality was swept by Monte in the Quarter-finals, 2-0 with three out of their five players having a rating below one for the entire series.
FaZe had an even worse showing against MOUZ with not a single player having a rating above one after only losing in the Group Stage to the second-place finisher NAVI.
Counter-Strike 2 fully released during the Group Stage of the event which in turn shut down the servers and game of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. The tournament finished on Global Offensive, but now it is officially the start of a new era of professional Counter-Strike.
The first big event that will be in Counter-Strike 2 will be IEM Sydney 2023 which starts in 13 days on Oct. 13.
BLAST Fall Showdown Europe and Americas will be played on CS:GO and starts this Wednesday and Thursday.
