Ever since joining Bare Knuckle Fighting Championships in 2022, Mike Perry has been on a streak that few could have anticipated. His first round knockout win over Thiago Alves was yet another former UFC title challenger that he dispatched of in bare knuckle boxing.

For some reason, Mike Perry seems to fit like a glove in BKFC. Although his base is in boxing, and that he had an armature boxing career that saw him go 8-3 with six knockouts, the toil that bare knuckle boxing takes on ones body is far different.

One has to think about how fragile the hands are to understand the fragility of the human hand. If one repeatedly punches their opponent’s skull for the length of time of a BKFC bout, one is likely to break their hand. It is rather impressive that Perry has experienced this happen yet chooses to always go forward.

There is also the fact that one gets cut far easier when getting punched by a bare fist in comparison to a gloved one. This plays into the ability to get hit and keep moving forward, which Perry exhibits. He showed this in his fight against Michael “Venom” Page. Page made Perry look like a chipmunk, with a very large hematoma accumulating on Perry’s cheek throughout the fight. Despite all this, Perry came out the victor via unanimous decision.

He has already beat a former UFC Champions in Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez, a former UFC title challenger in Thiago Alves, and an alumni of The Ultimate Fighter in Julian Lane

It seems apparent that Perry possesses a type of mental strength and boxing skill that is perfect for BKFC. He also provides a big name for BKFC to grow around/. They have done this by dubbing him the king of violence after Perry mentioned that he was after his fight against Alvarez. Now all Perry needs to do is beat the Middleweight Champion, David Mundell.
