The Dallas Wings narrowly defeated the Las Vegas Aces on friday by a score of 80-78. This was the biggest win of the Wings season as they defeated the reigning champion Aces and ended their 8-game win streak. Due to a clockwork operator error, the Aces were given the ball with 0.4 seconds left on the clock but Jackie Young, forward for the Aces, was not able to secure the game tying shot.

Aces guard Kelsey Plum and Wings guard Arike Ugonbowale lead their teams in scoring with 21 points each, but it was Natasha Howard who secured the victory for the Wings. The remaining 0.4 seconds came after Howard was fouled and proceeded to knock down two free throws to give the Wings the lead.

Howard finished the game with 16 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists. The Wings are now 9-9 and have won three of their last four games, they have now also improved to second place in the Western Conference. While the Aces have fallen to 16-2, they hope to swing the momentum back in their direction this Sunday when they travel to Minnesota to play another 9-9 team in the Lynx. The Wings face off against the 5-13 Fever this Sunday in Indiana.
