Dear Dana: Make a Neal-Burns main event, and put Terrance McKinney on PPV

In the wake of last night’s third-round KO of sixth-ranked Welterweight Vicente Luque, it’s time for Geoff “Handz of Steel” Neal to finally get his moment in the spotlight.

The 31-year-old from Hanker Heights, Texas, has been a four-year veteran of the UFC and has fought nine times with a 7-2 record. Additionally, he has never been finished in his UFC career. Coming into last night ranked 13th in the Welterweight rankings, he more or less dominated Luque from start to finish. With Luque being ranked sixth, it’s reasonable to assume that Neal will be firmly in the top eight when Monday’s rankings come out. This would put him in prime position for a fight night main event matchup with his callout, Gilbert “Dorinho” Burns.

The 36-year-old from Rio is coming off a loss in an absolute war against rising star Khamzat Chimaev but is still ranked fourth. We know that both of these guys love to be in a dogfight and throw hands, so let’s hope Dana White grants Neal’s wish and we get these things scheduled for around mid-November.

Shortly preceding Neal was a masterclass first-round rear-naked choke win by Terrance “T-Wrecks” McKinney. If Neal is going to get his time in the spotlight, it’s time for this exciting prospect to get his as well. Give T-Wrecks a main card pay-per-view fight.

At just 27 years old, McKinney is 3-1 in four fights in the UFC and already has the fourth fastest knockout in UFC history. That knockout came in his debut against Matt Frevola, where he knocked Frevola out in 7 seconds. This guy has flair, personality, and, most importantly, unreal talent. All of his fights, win or lose, are must-see television. Put this guy in front of a packed stadium. It’s time.
