An Overview of the BLAST Fall Groups 2023
The BLAST Fall Groups concluded on Sunday, and we now have the six teams that will move onto the Fall Final and the six teams that will be moved down to the Fall Showdown.
The six teams advancing to the Fall Finals are Vitality, Astralis, FaZe, Ninjas in Pyjamas (NIP), Natus Vincere (NAVI), and Heroic.
The six teams that must now compete at the Fall Showdown for a spot at the Fall Finals are G2, Complexity, Evil Geniuses (EG), BIG, Liquid and OG.
The two surprise teams are G2 and NIP with NIP defeating Vitality 2-0 to make it to the Fall Final.
G2 had another disappointing event where they performed below expectations once again nearly losing a series to EG.
G2 has one of the best rosters in the world and continues to fall flat at events the past few months being knocked out early in the major and only finishing top six at IEM Dallas.
They had a good showing at the BLAST Spring Final in June making fans see it as a good end before the player break, but in the Fall Groups they went back to the old ways.
Teams like BIG and Liquid while not making the Final had impressive showings with their new rosters with Liquid defeating both G2 and FaZe two teams ranked in the top five in the world.
The Fall Showdown which will take place in October will include the six teams relegated from the Fall Groups and ten other teams not yet announced with the top two finishing teams advancing to the Blast Spring Final.
The next event to look out for is IEM Cologne with the play-in stage starting in two days and the main event starting in five days.
