Alpine Driver Pairing for 2025 Still Unknown

Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari has opened several doors for different drivers whose contracts end at the end of the 2024 season. Among these are current Alpine drivers Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly.

The Alpine team is being pressured to extend their contracts or risk losing them to attractive seats such as the open one in Mercedes alongside George Russell. The Alpine team principal, Bruno Famin, stated regarding contraction extensions, “We are talking to them on a permanent basis. We were talking before the Hamilton announcement”.

Alpine can either lock the drivers down as quickly as possible or wait to see how the driver’s market plays out as the 2024 season rolls out. Both options are risky as they can lose out on highly sought out drivers much like how they lost Fernando Alonso to Aston Martin after the 2022 season.

Neither Ocon or Gasly have given hints as to what their plans for the future are, but have made it clear that their focus at the moment is with Alpine.
