A Preview of the BLAST Premier Fall Groups 2023

The BLAST Premier Fall Groups starts tomorrow and brings a start to the fall season of professional counter-strike.

The event will take place in Copenhagen over ten days and involves 12 teams in three different group stages

It is a single elimination bracket tournament meaning if a team loses two best of threes they are out of the tournament.

This will be the first event that we will see many new team compositions after a hectic offseason reshaped countless iconic teams.

Teams like Natus Vincere, Team Liquid, Ninjas in Pyjamas, Evil Geniuses, and OG Esports all come into the Fall Groups with revamped teams.

Vitality also made a big move in the offseason when they benched dupreeh and replaced him with flameZ who was formerly on OG Esports.

The top six teams of the event will move on to the BLAST Premier Fall Final that takes place later this year in November.

This event will be a good indication of how well these new team compositions will work for the season. Be prepared to see some mistakes as a lot of these roster shuffles happened only in the last few days giving the players little time to build chemistry within the team.

The favorites in this event are the typical top dogs of the scene including Vitality, Heroic, FaZe, G2, Natus Vincere and Team Liquid.

Heroic is the clear favorite for me to win it all with Vitality and FaZe being in my number two and three spots.

I could see teams like Complexity or Ninjas in Pyjamas making deep runs or possibly upsetting a team like Vitality or Heroic.

Overall, I am very excited to finally have professional counter-strike back after a month-long break.

The event will be livestreamed on Twitch, YouTube and the BLAST.tv website with other streamers doing co-streams of the event as well.

The event is in Europe so it is good to note that the games will take place from 6:00 AM EST to around 2:30 PM EST.
