All Aboard the Money Train

This past week in WWE saw several developments heading into the Money in the Bank event. Last week’s Raw saw two more people entered into their respective matches: Logan Paul has been invited into the men’s match, while Trish Stratus qualified for the women’s outing. In addition, Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler unified the WWE and NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships by defeating Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn on SmackDown. On the same show, the Usos sent a message to their cousin, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, by doubling up on Solo Sikoa, heading into their “Bloodline Civil War” bout this Saturday.

Kicking Down the Door

This year’s Forbidden Door lived up to the hype in comparison to last year’s event. The collaboration event between All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling would hold 14 matches, including hits such as Kenny Omega vs Will Ospreay for the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship, and a technical wrestling classic in Bryan Danielson taking on Kazuchika Okada. One match that wasn’t seen was Adam Cole vs Tom Lawlor due to an undisclosed illness from the former.

Here’s Johnny!

Elsewhere in AEW, a surprise twist brewed for the Acclaimed. During a Rampage segment between the aforementioned team and Harley Cameron, former world champion Johnny TV (formerly John Morrison, Johnny Mundo, Johnny Impact, and Johnny Elite) was revealed and attacked Billy Gunn, joining the QTV faction in the process.
