Will the Los Angeles Dodgers Have a High or Low Exception In 2023?
After the 2022 offseason the Dodgers made many moves but those many moves consisted of not resigning key players. Some of those key players were Cody Belllinger, Trea Turner, Justin Turner, and Tyler Anderson.
Cody Bellinger was the key player in the outfield position and with him out of the picture there are many rising questions such as who will take his place? Even though for the past three consecutive seasons Bellinger had poor batting stats but many had comfort in his defensive center field skills. Luckily, the Dodgers still have Chris Tyalor and Trayce Thompson who started in the center field position in the postseason as an option to take over Bellingerโs absence. Other than those two options for the center field position they also have the candidates of Bradley Zimmer and Jason Heyward.
Gavin Lux was once a top shortstop prospect after being a backup for Corey Seager and Trea Turner. Many are excited for him to officially have a spot in the regular for the first time because he played so well when he was able to get on the field. According to Freddie Freeman in an interview when he was asked who he is most excited to see this season, he stated, โIโm most excited for [to] [see] is Gavin Lux. The man was hitting .300 last year. Now heโs been given the task to shortstopโฆbut for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Thatโs a big task.โ
Lastly, the rookie Miguel Vargas will make everyone know his name this season. Vargas when he was called up during the 2022 season he played the majority of his time at first base, third base, or left field. But during his Minor league days he played the majority of his time on second base so, when spring training comes he will start playing on second base.
After reading all of this, do you think the Dodgers still have a chance to win their Division or even the World Series?
