Team USA entered the eighth inning down 7-5 after blowing a three-run lead in the fifth inning. Tim Anderson was able to get on base with a walk, followed by a single by Pete Alonso, and a hit-by-pitch of JT Realmuto, allowing Turner to come up to the plate with the bases loaded and no outs.

Turner sent an 0-2 changeup 407 feet into LoanDepot Park’s left field bleachers.

The 29-year-old described the grand slam as the biggest hit of his career.

The stadium, along with Team USA was buzzing during the home run celebration.

Team USA is now two wins away from a second straight World Baseball Classic title.
