Anthony Volpe Joining the Opening Day Roster

With just six days away from the New York Yankees opening day, the Yankees and San Francisco Giants are gearing up to face off and open the long awaited season. After just wrapping up MLB spring training, where the Yankees welcomed some new prospective players. One top prospective, Anthony Volpe, turned many heads with his skills on the field. The 21-year-old, second basement from Watchung, New Jersey came into spring training ready to play and was set on his goal, playing in the major leagues this season.

Over the past couple of weeks since spring training, there has been a common question asked by Yankees fans, will Anthony Volpe be apart of the opening day line up? Within the Yankee organization, Volpe had the support of multiple people with high a level of authority within the league. During the weeks leading up to opening day, Volpe has been up against returner Oswald Peraza for the opening day short stop position.

On March 26, 2023, it was announced that Volpe has officially received his pinstripes. As he will be making his major leagues debut on March 30th, 2023 as the opening day short stop during the matchup against the Giants. It will be intriguing to see how the season plays out for this incredible athlete. Is Volpe the new, up and coming Aaron Judge?
