The Detroit Tigers have acquired 34-year-old veteran outfielder Mark Canha. Canha was traded for minor leaguer Blake Holub. The Tigers acquired Cahna from Milwaukee on Saturday, making this Canha's third team this year, after being traded by the Mets earlier in the season and now Milwaukee. Milwaukee faced a deadline on a $11.5 million team option for Cahna's 2024 contract but paid a $2 million buyout. After acquiring Cahna from the Brewers, the Tigers picked up Cahna's $11.5 million team option for the 2024 season.

The nine-year veteran looks to be a great addition to a very young Tigers team, becoming the oldest player on the Tigers roster. Canha will bring leadership to the clubhouse and play a significant role in their offense. The outfielder will be a great fit in the Tigers lineup as he gets on base and can hit double-digit home runs. Canha scored solid numbers in 2023 as he hit .262 with 25 home runs, 62 RBIs, and a .355 on-base percentage. Consistency has been vital for Cahna as he has a .364 on-base percentage since 2018.

It will be interesting to see what else the Tigers do to try and get back in the playoff hunt. Canha should help develop the young Detroit Tigers' offense and add toughness to the Tiger's clubhouse.
