Orioles Plate Six Runs Before Recording An Out

Sunday Night Baseball saw the Baltimore Orioles take a commanding 7-0 lead in the first inning against the New York Yankees, a lead in which they never gave up. What makes this more impressive is the fact that Baltimore scored six of these runs before they even recorded an out.

The Orioles opened the bottom of the first with Adley Rutschman hitting a single. Gunnar Henderson would come up to the plate next and collect a single of his own.

With two men on, Anthony Santander launches a double, scoring Rutschman and making it a 1-0 ballgame. Ryan O’Hearn would make it back-to-back doubles for the Orioles, scoring both Henderson and Santander. The lead is extended to 3-0 in only the first inning. Luis Severino then walks Austin Hays.

Adam Frazier steps up to the plate with two men on and still zero outs. A shot to right field doubles Baltimore’s lead as Frazier hits a three run homer. The lead then stands at 6-0, with an out yet to be recorded.

The streak would end there as Ramon Urias strikes out against Severino.

The game would end in a 9-3 win for the Baltimore Orioles as they continue to add to their first place lead in the AL East.
