Red Sox Hope Easy Schedule Pushes Them Ahead in Wild Card Race

There are currently 6 games left for the Boston Red Sox. It is make or break time in the Wild Card race, as Toronto and New York are close to the Red Sox without breathing room. What may separate the Red Sox from the field in this race is their schedule, as they have 3 against the Orioles and Nationals, two of the worst teams in baseball. It’s almost as if the schedule gods determined that the Red Sox would be in this position and gave the team the most favorable schedule.

Not many thought the Red Sox would be where they are this season. From Hunter Renfroe’s emergence to Bobby Dalbec’s red-hot stretch, there is a lot that has gone right for the Red Sox. The Red Sox have a less than desirable bullpen and some of their pitching options.  This team is so frustrating to watch despite their successful season because of their inconsistency. Either way, it is time to enjoy the last few drops of Red Sox baseball before the season ends either next week or hopefully in a few weeks.

Bobby Dalbec has silenced his critics in the past few months with a strong bat and decent glove.

The Yankees have a tumultuous stretch coming up against Toronto and then Tampa Bay. After playing the Yankees, the Jays have the Orioles. So, chances are it will be Toronto against Boston in the AL Wild Card game if the schedule plays out in the Red Sox favor. As we all know, baseball is one of the most unpredictable things in the world. Anything can happen. Here’s to a potential winning streak for the Red Sox.
