A’s Head Across The Bay For Two Game Series
As the A’s ownership continues to push towards relocation, the A’s fanbase continues its fight to keep the team in Oakland. With the annual Bay Bridge Series coming up, they have organized another protest event, this time across the Bay. The A’s faithful have asked Giants fans to “Unite the Bay” and join them in the protest. With the success of the Reverse Boycott, the diehard fans hope to show that the movement is spreading, even to other MLB teams.
At the Reverse Boycott event back in June, the fans packed the coliseum and donned shirts which read “Sell”. This time, local t-shirt company Oaklandish has printed the shirts in black and orange, hoping to see Giants fans echo the message.
With the A’s still struggling at the bottom of the league, the Giants are returning home and hoping to bounce back after a tough stretch. San Francisco started off the road trip with a five game winning streak. That quickly soured, however, as they went on to lose the next six.
The A’s are coming off a series loss to the Astros, but did manage to steal two games from the Red Sox. In game one, the A’s will rely on rookie Ken Waldichuk, who has been in and out of the rotation. The Giants will turn to Alex Cobb, who is quietly having a stellar season with a 3.15 ERA in 100 innings pitched.
San Francisco has won back-to-back Bay Bridge Series’, but the A’s still cling to the all time series 76-68.
