Will Tim Anderson Be Traded?

For much of the 2023 season, Tim Anderson has been a major disappointment. He’s having the worst season of his career in the middle of his prime. Prior to the All-Star break, Anderson’s slashline was a measly .227/.263/.268 with 13 RBI’s and 0 home runs. During that span, he also the 7th lowest f-WAR (Fangraphs) in the league at -0.8. Much of the trade value Anderson had was almost entirely gone but of the last couple of weeks, it seems he has found his groove and could be an asset to a contending team.

In the 14 games since the All-Star break, Anderson has slashed .351/.413/.439 with 6 RBI’s and finally breaking his homerless streak. Much of his batted balls during the 2nd half have been hit either pull or up the middle. In previous years, Anderson’s opposite field approach is what set him apart from the rest of the league. Anderson has had to adjust his offensive approach which could cause a contender to pull the trigger and acquire Anderson. With the recent trades the White Sox have made, it’s likely that Anderson will be in another uniform before Tuesday’s deadline.
