LONDON, U.K. - The 2023/24 Women’s Super League (WSL) season is almost here! After a summer full of transfers, who are the signings that will have the most impact for their clubs this WSL season? Let’s find out!

Daphne van Domselaar (FC Twente to Aston Villa)

A two-time Dutch league champion, Aston Villa have done well to complete the signing of goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar from FC Twente. In this summer’s World Cup, van Domselaar kept three clean sheets, made 17 saves and had a save percentage of 90 percent. Villa fans will be hoping she will have similar form in the WSL this season.

Amanda Ilestedt (PSG to Arsenal)

Ashley Lawrence (PSG to Chelsea)

Another player who left PSG for the WSL, Lawrence comes to Chelsea bringing versatility and tricky footwork. She should fit in well with Manager Emma Hayes’ playing style. Lawrence will slot into Chelsea’s starting defense alongside the likes of Millie Bright, Kadeisha Buchanan and Jess Carter.

Jill Roord (Wolfsburg to Manchester City)

This is a transfer that may go under the radar since she already played in the WSL, but she will bring a lot of creativity to this Manchester City side. Add to this, the quality of Manchester City’s attack, and Jill Roord has the potential to be a great signing for Manchester City.

Hinata Miyazawa (Vegalta Sendai to Manchester United)

The top scorer at this summer’s World Cup, Miyazawa will look to be Manchester United’s new number nine. She possesses the clinical finishing and ability to fill Alessia Russo’s void. This will be a big step for Miyazawa, but if she carries on her performances from the World Cup this summer, she will be an excellent signing.
