World cup: who’s in.
This past week was characterized by a series of matches valid for the FIFA World Cup 2022, which will take place in Qatar.
The tournament is going to be a unique manifestation for various reasons: first of all, it will be the last with 32 national teams participating, as, starting from the 2026 edition, the competition will be extended to 48 teams.
Secondly, Qatar 2022 will be the first edition of the World Cup to take place in November and December, as the prohibitive temperatures reached in the summer months would have made it almost impossible to organize a sportive manifestation of this kind.
The teams that have already earned their participation in the tournament are: Qatar (by right, as hosting country), Germany, Denmark, Brazil, France, Belgium, Croatia, Spain, Serbia, England, Switzerland, Netherland, and Argentina.
The remaining 19 available spots will be assigned through a new series of matches that will take place throughout all the actual season.
