Wolves upset Spurs 1-0
Wolverhampton Wanderers beat Tottenham Hotspurs 1-0 with a goal from Adama Traore. A shot from Mexican international Raul Jiminez forced Fraser Forster to push the ball to Traore, who finished off the play with a cheeky volley that went off the crossbar and in. The goal came in the 81st minute and was the only one in the game.
Tottenham controlled the game's flow but could not find the back of the net. The game had major implications on the table. It helps Wolves in their hunt for survival in the Premier League, putting them up to 13th place, five points clear of relegation, although they have played another game more than most of the pack.
It also greatly impacts the race for the top four and Champions league football. The loss for Spurs puts their place in the top four in jeopardy. Liverpool stomped over United this weekend, which puts them just three points behind Spurs, and they have a game in hand. They also have a nine-better goal difference. Tottenham is known for blowing away leads, and they may have just done it again.
Tottenham play next Saturday against Nottingham Forest, whilst Wolves play Newcastle next Sunday.
