Why Manchester United is having a great transfer window

Over the past decade, Manchester United has seen a carousel of managers come through the Old Trafford doors. A multitude of managers means a multitude of different strategies to win football matches. These managers have brought in players to fit their ideas and have left United with the issue of having players that do not fit the new manager's needs. It is tough for managers at a club like United to receive time to implement their ideas and get the players they want because they have some form of success in the season for the fans.

Many of the most recent managers have brought in big-name players like Paul Pogba, Ángel Di María, and Cristiano Ronaldo, all fantastic players. However, they did not fit United's current state, which is a rebuilding club. Erik ten Hag has come in with a fresh new idea and plan. He is sticking to this plan by the type of transfers United brings in.

Ten Hag has found most of his success in Dutch football, specifically with Ajax. The players United have bought so far have had a connection with Dutch football. Tyrell Malacia is a young, up-and-coming fullback for the Dutch national team. Lisandro Martinez played under Ten Hag at Ajax, which means Ten Hag knows exactly what he will bring to United. Christian Eriksen has tons of Premier League experience and spent some time playing for Ajax. All these players have strong ties with Ten Hag, which gives the manager a clear idea of how they will fit the squad. He is not bringing in big-name players to satisfy fans. Instead, he is building a culture of trust by getting players he trusts himself. Hopefully, for the United faithful, his strategy will succeed.
