USMNT vs. Germany
The USMNT had their toughest test in some time with the German National team coming to the States. The young and promising squad was in full effect, with all of their best players hitting the starting 11.
Apart from injured Tyler Adams, this squad is by far the strongest that the US can put onto the pitch. Captain America, Christian Pulisic, opened the scoring with an absolute beauty. With four goals and one assist in 10 games for his new club, AC Milan, he has been a man in form.
Though it started well for the boys in blue, Germany asserted their dominance with goals from Ilkay Gundogan, Niclas Fullkrug, and Jamal Musiala. The USMNT has made great strides in recent years to be more competitive against the best of the best, and Germany certainly has a squad that is capable of winning trophies versus the best team in the world.
With the advancements that the USMNT has made in recent years, this result is disappointing. Christian Pulisic had this to say about the result:
With more growing pains sure to happen, the fact that they competed with one of the best teams in the world is a good sign for what is to come with this team in the future.
